Write a passage in no less than 100 words, on your understanding of “the Declaration of Independence”, what impresses you most, how you think this document has influenced the United States.
After reading “the Declaration of Independence”, I noticed that the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence was very brave. The man who signed it also risked being killed, especially the one who signed his name in the most prominent place. This kind of fearless defiance needs to be learned and no matter what age we live in. Not only that, but they knew exactly what they wanted to gain through their independence. A total of 27 things they needed to change through their independence to create the thirteen United States of America.
But there are also some omissions in it. The whole Declaration of Independence is based on one particular foundation, “God”. “All men are created equal” actually means “all men are created equal by God”, which is different from “all men are born equal”. “God” makes the social life in America is closely related to religion. The society, the party, and the government are all influenced by religious groups. All presidents have to take the oath of office by touching the Bible. Also, “men created equal” does not include women, slaves, which has set the stage for the various affirmative movements that followed in the U.S. It can’t really be said that it was a problem of decision making at the time, only that the times were different and they didn’t realize that such problems would arise more than two hundred years later.
U.S. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg(RBG) speaks out for affirmative action and the world marches for Floyd ……If no policies satisfy the public, there may be more of this in the future.
